A practical curriculum and a track record of graduates obtaining employment in the prefecture’s top tiers
Faculty of Education
Our department has graduates who score in the top tiers for employment as teachers in Mie Prefecture, and we are proud of our excellent track record. Our system of education has established a reputation for equipping students with practical instructional skills through training such as practice teaching classes run by students and musicals put on by the students. In 2008, the department began offering three courses: School Education, Preschool Education, and Sports and Health Science. From 2010, a new Special Needs Education Course was added to the curriculum.
In the School Education Course, the aim is to train students for employment as elementary school teachers whose perspective extends to preschool, junior high school, and high school. In the Preschool Education Course, it is possible for students to simultaneously obtain a nursery school teacherʼs certification as well as Class 1 preschool and elementary school teacherʼs licenses. In the Sports and Health Science Course, we train students to become health and physical education teachers who can convey to junior and senior high school students the value and beauty of physical exercise, and in the Special Needs Education Course, we prepare teachers for employment at special needs schools.
