3. Application Criteria
Selection of International Students
Those students having sufficient Japanese language proficiency to attend courses in the graduate school at Kogakkan, and meeting any of the following conditions:
- (1) Those students having foreign citizenship who have completed 16 years of formal education abroad, or those who are expected to do so.
- (2) Those who have graduated from a university in Japan as a foreign student, or those who are expected to do so by the end of March 2024.
- (3) Others who are deemed by the graduate school to have qualifications equivalent to (1) or (2).
- (4) Those who have passed the level N1 (previous known as "level 1") of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test conducted by the Japan Foundation or the Japan Educational Exchanges and Services, or those who scored 230 points or higher (Japanese) and 30 points or higher (written questions) on the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students conducted by the Japan Student Services Organization.
- (5) Those who can acquire after enrollment a "student visa" as stipulated by the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act.
- (6) Those capable of paying academic fees from enrollment to graduation.

6. Selection Method and Examination Period
- Selection is made based on a scholastic aptitude test, an oral examination, and academic performance at the applicant's previous school.
- Depending on the examination performance, students may not be able to enroll even if the number of students does not meet the quota.
